Postdoctoral Openings at Shan lab at California Institute of Technology
-
The Shan lab at California Institute of Technology (http://shangroup.caltech.edu/Welcome.html) is seeking motivated postdoctoral candidates for the following projects/areas:
(i) The mechanism of molecular chaperones in cotranslational protein folding and biogenesis
(ii) The mechanism and cellular role of a human ClpB homolog, a chaperone that can function both as a disaggregase and protein folding nanocage, in mitochondrial protein folding and quality control (https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.adf5336)
(iii) Development/testing of a novel platform for the directed evolution of target-specific molecular chaperones and investigation of the mechanisms of the evolved chaperones.
All projects are well supported funding and expertise-wise. In addition, California Institute of Technology provides a highly collaborative environment that fosters cross-disciplinary, highly innovative research.
Interested candidates with expertise in protein biochemistry and biophysics and molecular cell biology are encouraged to apply by contacting Dr. Shan (sshan@caltech.edu).
Please include an introduction to your research experience and interest, CV, and arrange to have three reference letters sent to Dr. Shan.
